Hello, I’m Megan Stapelberg, Counselling Psychologist and South African expat. I have a background in teaching and Educational Psychology and have been calling the Netherlands my home for the past 5.5 years!
Have you noticed your child struggling with adapting to life in their new school or city? Is their bedtime routine a challenge or does your child find it challenging to express and regulate their emotions? Is anxiety getting in their way to be the best, most confident version of who they can be?
Let me join you on your journey and support your child or adolescent to cultivate a sense of belonging, stability and wellbeing as they adapt as expat kids.
Â
Are you a young adult?
Being an expat between the ages of 21 and 26 can be challenging: Not only are you carving out your own career or life path, but you also need to settle in a new city or country. Making friends, figuring out who you are and dealing with pressures of carving out your own path can become stressful. Let me walk beside you on this journey.
All therapy sessions take place online and are offered to children aged 9 or older and for young adults until age 26.Â
You can be changed by what happens to you, but you don’t have to be reduced by it, as Maya Angelou so accurately stated. Head over to my website to learn how I can support your child, teenager or you, as a young adult, to thrive despite the challenges that changes in your life as expat might have brought!Â
